Stop Motion Statement

Task: Generate finished ideas for a 60 second stop motion animation, with original soundtrack.

(You must consider your potential audience. You should submit: An appropriate treatment/script; a detailed and annotated storyboard with timings; All pre-production test material (visual and sound) and development work).

Candidate name: Stephanie Clement
Theme:
E stings
Title of the Animation: Splat
Story or plot of animation
My idea is to use play-dough/plasticine to create my stop-motion animation. I will use a plain white back ground and then use the play dough/pasticine to create characters and/or different objects. I will make objects or characters that will keep moulding in to each other to make another object and eventually and hand will come down at the end and squash the plasticine and when the hand is lifted up if will reveal the E4 sign.

Reasons for selection of theme (including inspiration from the work of others)
I have looked on YouTube at other e4 idents that have been made using stop motion and a lot of them use plasticine and this has inspired me to make mine esting with this material.

Target Audience
People who watch E4 – young adults and teens

Equipment needed
-Plain white background – paper or white surface
-Different coloured play dough or plasticine
-Camera
-Tripod
-Extra lighting – lamps

Techniques that will be used and how they will help convey the visual message
My camera will stay in the same position throughout the animation but I will use the zoom at some points in the animation.
I will use extra lighting to light the set to give it more of a professional look and the so the lighting will be consistent throughout the pictures.

Ideas for sound track
I will use an instrumental piece of music in the background.
And some sound effects to emphasise the movement of objects.

Risk and health and safety considerations
I will fill out a Risk Assessment
